Comments: Utterly adorable! Entirely unrealistic in a no-way-in-hell-would-that-EVER-happen fashion, but adorable! I actually squee’d when I read it, and I haven’t done a fangirl squee in ages.

Author Summary: “A semiAU epistolary novella. ‘There’s always a smile somewhere you’ll want to protect.’”

Comments: Cute, fluffy, semi-angsty FFVII fic. The first chapter is from Cloud’s point of view, and being pre-Nibelheim, it’s pretty angst-free. We see lots of SensitiveClueless!Cloud in this one. The second chapter is all Sephiroth—as such, angsty without being emotional. I like the first chapter better, but the second is pretty good too. I just adore Mama Strife in this one, even though she’s only a peripheral character and never encountered directly.

Comments: A cute D/Leon ficcie. I loved this “relationship development by letter” approach—especially since Grandpa Sofu gets involved! Leon is as cute and clueless as ever, and D is his usual mysterious self, if only in writing. And the squid! My god, the squid! I choked on my breakfast laughing at that one.

Comments: A cute, romantic piece of Furuba fluff. I’m not usually a fan of the Shigure/Tohru pairing, but this fic made it work. Akito, usually my most-hated FB character, is given a nicer-than-usual characterization in this. Yuki and Kyo are almost non-entities for most of the fic, with more of the spotlight on OCs.

Comments: A lovely FMA post-series fic. Al doesn’t come back as a kid, and Ed doesn’t end up in Germany. I enjoyed the Roy/Ed development, the relationship complications due to memory problems, the dichotomy between Auric and Edward, even the Havoc/Hawkeye relationship. Excellent writing style and characterization.

Comments:  Ron uses that strategic brain of his for something other than chess. The results are hilarious. I absolutely love how Hermione completely takes over his idea at the end. "Make love, not war!"

Fandom Classification: Ranma 1/2 x Neon Genesis Evangelion  

Author Summary: “Ranma finds himself banished into the world of Evangelion replacing Shinji’s character. Can he hold the fragmenting psyches of his NERV comrades together in order to prevent the Third Impact? Wouldn’t that require diplomacy?”

Comments:  While this has the feel of a “fix-it” fic, the plot development shows more than just a convenient way of keeping the characters alive. Ranma could never fit into Shinji’s passive role, and his presence obviously warps the “timeline” of events. The presence of people who actually accept him allows Ranma to mature and grow as a person instead of simply as a martial artist, as well.   

Pairing: Rei/Ranma/Asuka (that’s a threesome, people, not a triangle)

Author Summary: “The battle with Saffron causes an instability in the Yggradsil, and with it, some minor changes to Ranma’s file, namely an upgrade to that of Goddess of Luck First Class! Ranma copes, changes and gets into trouble.”

Comments:  A humorous fusion of Ranma ½ and AMG, using the “Ranma-turned-Goddess” plotline. It’s interesting to see how Ranma deals with his/her new state of divinity, and the heavy responsibilities that come with it. Chapter 5 crosses into the Tenchi universe, with Ranma acting as wish-granter!

I think the answer is staring us right in the face kid!" Skuld looked confused. "Face it. We’re talking about a mortal who picked a fight with one of us. Who do you think is gonna win?"

Skuld’s eyes lit up suddenly. "I see! So the deity is…"

"Ranma Saotome, of course." Urd proclaimed with smug satisfaction. "That’s why I recognize the name. Probably an old drinking buddy of mine or something!"
